In 2021, I challenged states to extend Medicaid postpartum coverage from 2 months to 12. Today, we celebrate Nevada as the 46th state to take this critical step to address the maternal health crisis. The remaining states must act so every mother can access this live-saving care.

As a Senator, I introduced legislation to expand national monuments in California. I was proud to join President Biden as he signed two proclamations to protect nearly 120,000 acres in California that are of scientific, cultural, ecological, and historical importance.

Expanding our public lands protections increases our access to nature, boosts our outdoor economy, and honors areas of significance to Tribal Nations and Indigenous peoples. @POTUS and I are committed to safeguarding America’s public lands for generations to come.
